Dear WealthTrack viewers,

One of the best things about my job is it is a continuous learning curve. Every week I interview some of the smartest and most successful professionals in the investment business and share them with you. All of them are readers. Not surprisingly some of them are authors. The WealthTrack team has put together a list of books we and they think might be of interest to you. Some are classics, some are new, some are entertaining, all are thought provoking and help make us better investors. We hope you enjoy them as much as we have and still do.

Best,
Consuelo Mack

(Revised edition updated with new commentary by WealthTrack guest Jason Zweig) Former Graham student, Warren Buffett calls this stock market guide "by far the best book on investing ever written".

An instant classic when first published more than thirty years ago the latest revision is just as relevant, translating the ground breaking insights of modern finance theory into plain English.

WealthTrack guest Charley Ellis has taken his years of experience as a top institutional investor consultant to the pros and put it in this book to help the rest of us reach our financial goals. Strongly recommended by WealthTrack guests Bill Miller and Peter Bernstein as well.

From stocks, to insurance, to mortgages, to mutual funds this will help you manage all of your personal finances. An accessible and entertaining guide for beginners on up.

WealthTrack guest Bernstein's fascinating account of how the concept of risk evolved from the ancient Greeks to the Renaissance to modern day Wall Street could not be more pertinent today. How could the financial industry's risk "management" go so terribly wrong in the 21st century? The roots of today's financial disasters and successes are found in this beautifully written history.

Another "I can't believe it's happening again" read. Like a true classic, this book is both timely and timeless, according to a favorite WealthTrack guest, Financial Historian Richard Sylla of NYU.

First published in 1923, this novel is a thinly disguised biography of Jesse Livermore, one of Wall Street's most colorful and successful speculators. His experiences about market psychology and behavior still ring true today.

One of the best books ever written about investing, according to legendary money manager Bill Miller. It's about the first "rocket scientist" investors who turned mathematical theories into major fortunes.

WealthTrack guest and former hedge fund manager Bookstaber provides an insider's scholarly look at how Wall Street became a much riskier place. Blame complex derivatives and the global nature of the financial markets.

WealthTrack guest, Taleb coined the term Black Swans to describe seemingly impossible or unexpected events that can have a huge impact. His thesis seems much more plausible today than it did when I first read it a couple of years ago.

A romp of a memoir about his days as a young bond salesman at the old Salomon Brothers. A hilarious behind-the-scenes look at Wall Street during another go-go period written by a wonderful storyteller.

Biggs, a 30-year veteran of Morgan Stanley has written an entertaining introduction to the world of professional investors and hedge funds battling for investment survival.

Few understand the global financial world better than WealthTrack guest Paul McCulley, a portfolio manager and economist at bond giant PIMCO. This book is an invaluable guide to understanding and navigating the world in which we are investing. He also gives us personal, actionable investment advice.

One of my favorites of the excellent "Little Book Big Profits " series published by John Wiley & Sons. WealthTrack guest David Darst, the Chief Investment Strategist of Morgan Stanley's Global Wealth Management Group is a master of the critical art of asset allocation. He has written several scholarly books on the subject, but this small volume provides gives you the tools to figure out your investment objectives and create the portfolio that will get you there.

Another terrific "Little Book", this one by the legendary index fund pioneer and founder of the Vanguard family of funds. WealthTrack guest Jack Bogle explains why stock index funds outperform the vast majority of actively managed funds and provides some very compelling reasons why low cost indexing should be a part of most portfolios.

An in-depth examination of the country's most successful investor, his strategies and his thinking behind owning the stocks in his portfolio.

Any book by economist, columnist, actor, humorist, and Wealthtrack guest Ben Stein is worth reading. He has written several books with investment advisor Phil DeMuth about financial planning. This one is literally a lifetime guide to organizing the basics of all aspects of your financial life for twenty to sixty year olds.

Kiplinger's insurance writer and WealthTrack guest, Lankford guides us through the complicated world of insurance shopping from health plans to homeowners policies to long-term care insurance.

A pioneering work about investor behavior. WealthTrack guest, Jason Zweig investigates what happens to our brains when we think about money. He will astonish you with the latest research from the new field of neuroeconomics, a mixture of neuroscience, psychology and economics.

WealthTrack guest Bill Paul is one of the smartest and well informed energy reporters I know. His theory is that the energy technology revolution will restructure the global oil industry as radically as occurred in the 19th century when petroleum emerged as the world's principal fuel. This is a timely guide to understanding the new disruptive energy technologies and the investment opportunities they represent.
